Hello friends,
I won’t be in town for a few days so I thought to put this review up before I left.
I will tell you about my skin’s condition before moving on to the product or its review. I have been prescribed biotin pills by my doctor. As it is, without any influence of medication, I get hormonal acne every month around my jaw line and cheek. These days it is not as harsh as it used to be. But yes I am not someone who is blessed with gorgeous smooth skin.
Once I started taking my biotin pills, I started getting cystic acne in my jaw line and chin area. I was horrified as it had been some time since I got such an alarming flare up. I know biotin may cause acne flare ups. But I was not prepared for this type of a breakout.
So I decided to ditch all my chemical laden skin care products and started using ayurvedic and natural products. It was like a skin detox for me. Now, read on to know how Forest Essentials Soundarya Ubtan helped in the process of detoxing my skin.
It comes in a classy looking plastic tub with a metallic golden lid. The tub comes packed in a brown carton box just like all the other products from Forest Essentials.
Rs. 695/- for 50 Grams.
It boasts of an impressive ingredients list including fennel seeds, saffron, neem and sandalwood oil. Read more about the product here.
It is an Ubtan i.e., you can use it as a face pack or as a cleanser. Since I had acne and dry-patches too, I used it along with curd. I mixed it with curd as I had active acne’s and used it as a cleanser. And on days when I had more time, I used the same mixture as a face pack.
Immediately after the first use, I was surprised to find that my skin did not feel dehydrated and stretchy. I used to get this dry feeling when I used similar ayurvedic powders before. But with this one, my skin felt smooth and nourished.
After about three days of continuous usage I found that my acne got less painful and started drying. There were no fresh breakouts even though I continued my biotins.
After one week I started noticing nice and healthy glow and my train companion commented on how shiny and healthy my face looked. :D
This Ubtan is made of natural and ayurvedic ingredients which targets dullness and imparts glow.
Mixing it with curd made this Ubtan even more effective on my heavily acne prone skin. The mixture did not feel coarse at all. It is gentle and did not irritate my sensitive skin even when I used it almost every day.
The dry patches around my nose vanished and my skin glows happily. It also made my skin more even toned and lightened up my acne scars to a great extent.
The only negative thing about this Ubtan is the smell of curd. I am someone who eats curd on a daily basis. But when I mix curd with this Ubtan, the smell is not something which I would adore.
When mixed with water and used, it smells wonderfully ayurvedic and soothing. But I feel that this Ubtan feels little bit coarser and less moisturizing when mixed with plain water. Yes it is quite costly but considering what it does for my skin, I think it is worth the price!
In short, Forest Essentials Soundarya Ubtan made impressive changes in my skin and i am very happy with it. I have decided to repurchase this product again and again till I come across a better ayurvedic product for my dry-combination skin. J
