I love Colorbar Velvet matte lipsticks. I love them for their price, staying power and decent shade selection. I have couple of lipsticks from them and today I am going to review the shade Brick-O-La.
It comes in a silver bullet with a transparent cap. The cap feels feeble though I have not faced any accidents. If you intend to carry it in your handbag, always keep it in a pouch. Better be safe than sorry right?
I got it from jabong for Rs. 275/- for 4.2 g.
Brick-O-la looks brick colored in the bullet but when swatched, it leans more towards deep rose.
It is a gorgeous color and before picking up this shade from jabong (I was given a voucher as the eyeshadow I received came damaged) I was forced to rely on reviews and swatches online.
When I tried it on, unfortunately this shade was too loud for my taste. Nevertheless, it is a gorgeous color that will go very well with ethnic outfits.
This color tends to enhance my yellow undertones. In my opinion, on someone who is dusky-medium it will look ravishing. On any one lighter than that, it is a matter of personal choice.
The texture of the lipstick is creamy and goes on without any trouble. It feels creamier than couple of shades I tried from this velvet matte range.
It stays for about 5 hours on my lips which is quite impressive and leaves a stubborn pink stain. This lipstick survives snacks and drinks and transfers moderately.
Apart from this staining factor, I don’t have any problems with velvet mattes in general. But with this one, somehow the color did not work for me to my satisfaction.
On my lips:

Recommended! Despite the fact that Colorbar keeps increasing its prices, even at Rs. 299/- (which i believe is the current MRP) I guess these lipsticks are worth it. There are lots of gorgeous shades to suit everyone’s tastes.
