Have you heard of the ancient love stories where people fall in love only based on what they have heard about each other? I fell in love with Maybelline’s Color Tattoo in Tough as Taupe in a similar fashion. I have never used it but I always wanted to get it. And I did not just stop with the “want” I also ended up trying various ways and means to get hold of. Whenever I tried to get it from ebay, the exorbitant price always held my hand.

Finally my sweet friend Nisha got it for me. I was elated. And even after she got it for me, our meet-ups kept getting cancelled again and again in a frustrating manner and finally Nisha came near my home and gave it to me.

The moment I swatched it, I fell in love with the color, texture and just about everything. It is a rich taupe color with a hint of grey tones to it.

I use it for multiple purposes.

As an eyeshadow and as a base for my eyeshadows

For filling my brows.

When used as an eye shadow, it looks slightly darker than my skin color making it perfect for office.

It makes a wonderful base for darker colors. I love applying it on my lower lash line and going over it with a dark matte black eyeshadow. The eyeshadow stays put throughout the day.

The texture feels smooth and creamier than the color tattoo e/s's i have. It is not too difficult to blend. You need to be quick. Since it is not a metallic color, it looks unforgiving when left without proper blending.

I use a flat eyeshadow brush for precise application and I use my finger when I use it as a base.

I find it unreasonable to compare it with MAC's Paint pots. Comparatively, it is more difficult to blend and little stiff.

If you have darkness or dark circles you must neutralize and conceal it before trying this out as due to the grayness, it tends to make the dark circles appear even darker.

For filling my brows:

One day, I was unable to find my Inglot brow gel for taming my wild brows. But as I could not find it and was running out of time, I grabbed this and filled my brows with it. It looked completely natural and my brows stayed in place throughout the day. As I have thick brows I don’t feel the need to go over it with a dark brown eyeshadow. But if you have gaps, you can use a dark brown eye shadow on the areas after going with the tough as taupe.

I use kryolan or vega’s angled brush for the same.

It is a good multi-purpose product if you can get hold of it. I really wish Maybelline would launch all the shades across the globe. Launching all shades in some countries and depriving another country which is in fact one of the greatest consumers of Health and Beauty products seems to be little unfair.

Today I am going to be reviewing an affordable scrub which does its job in a very good manner.

Bajaj Nomarks Exfoliating Scrub with Walnut & Apricot

As I have combination-dry skin which is quite sensitive, not many scrubs suit me. For me, a scrub has to very gentle or else I may have to end up with severe redness and irritation.

Review:

The scrub is cream based with scrubbing granules (which is apricot kernels and walnut shell powder) in it. The granules are not abrasive and I did not face any irritation. The creamy base comes in handy when working the scrub. It still managed to get rid of dead skin.

The fragrance is mild and does not linger long. Unlike other scrubs it has been directed to let the scrub on the face for 10 mins before washing off.

After washing off, skin feels smoother, healthier and brighter. Using this scrub did not cause any skin irritation.

Continuous usage did make my skin look healthier and the acne marks less prominent.

These days my skin is drier than usual and though I felt the need to moisturize my skin after using this scrub, it did not aggravate the condition.

Though I did not find the scrub particularly effective in getting rid of the whiteheads, using this scrub regularly did help in preventing the formation of whiteheads and blackheads.

Apart from these, I did not notice any “fairness” as claimed. This scrub did not cause any breakouts.

You all might have known by now how particular and obsessed I am about my hair. After almost a year of hair smoothening, I wish I had not taken it up. Current Hair Condition:

My natural hair is wavy, thick and long. I underwent a hair smoothening treatment last December and started experiencing hair fall after 6 months i.e., from June 2014. I also started using the argan oil based products including a nourishing hair masque. After 3-4 months, though my hair started looking glossy and healthy it was still thin compared to my original thickness.

Even now, I continue facing the hair fall problem. It is not that serious as it was during the June 2014 times but as I am growing out my hair, I want it to look thicker and stronger.

As the mornings here are quite unpleasantly cold, looking at such a bright and summery bottle is indeed a refreshing sight. The bottle is opaque with a flip cap.

The shampoo and conditioner aims at strengthening the hair and nourishing the scalp, length and tips. It claims to contain coconut oil, almond oil and olive oil to nourish the hair and make it 10X stronger. The cherry on the cake is it claims to bind, repair and help reduce split-ends. I always believed that split ends can only be prevented and once they occur, the only remedy is chopping them off. So I am quite intrigued with this claim.

Today’s post is not about beauty or makeup or any such things. Today I am going to write about Shri Margadambika sametha Sri Margabandeeswarar Swami temple located at a small village called Virungipuram. It is a temple of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvathi who happen to be our family deity.

The reason for writing this post is, despite being such a huge temple, there is little or no posts about it in the Internet making it so difficult for people who want to visit it.

If you don’t understand the concept of family deity and all, let me explain. In India, most of the Hindu families have one particular God or Goddess associated with their family. It is advised that every year the family pays a visit to their family deity’s temple and before initiating any good event in the family like marriages, upanayanam’s etc.

Unfortunately today’s busy life style did not allow my parents to follow the rule seriously and we hardly went to the temple. Suddenly few days ago as we had a long weekend, my father proposed that we all visit our family deity’s temple and other small temples surrounding it. We hired a taxi and started the very next day at early morning 5:30!

I am not a literate person when it comes to tradition and religion. But I do believe in God. So if you find any of the portions in this article incorrect, please feel free to correct me. The intention is to help people who want to know about this temple and do not have enough resources online to guide them.

About the temple:

It is a 1300 year old temple located at the Chennai Bangalore Highway on a village called Virungipuram.
The main deity is Sri Margabandeeswarar Swami who is in the form of a Swayambu Linga (a naturally formed/found linga). The lingam here in the temple is in a leaning form. It is said that the rays of Sun fall on the Lingam in the months of Panguni which is roughly around March-April.
Legends say that Lord Brahma worshiped Lord Shiva in this temple.
On the ceiling of the sanctum sanctorum where the main deity is present, rudraksh mysteriously hang on top of the linga. No one knows how these rudraksha’s are formed and how it hangs from the ceiling. If I am not wrong, this phenomenon is also present at the sanctum sanctorum of the consort, Goddess Sri Maragadambika.
I have heard that there is a surangapathai (underground) passage inside the Sanctim Sanctorum but am unsure of where it leads of if it is still there.
The stala Vriksham (tree of the temple) is palm tree and it has a peculiar character of bearing black fruits in a year and white fruits the next year.
The temple also has an ancient clock/calendar that shows the exact time and date.
The temple has a pond known as Simha Kulam (Simha means Lion). The entrance to the pond is designed as a mouth of a lion.
The temple is also known for blessing Childless couples with child and is also known for removing obstacles in marriage and further education.
This temple is also sung/praised by renowned Vedic scholar and Shiva devotee, Sri Appayya Dikshithar who rendered the Shostram praising the main deity which aims at protecting people during travel.

How to reach/Location:

If you proceed towards Bangalore highway from vellore bye-pass, the village comes on the right hand side roughly at about 10 kms from Vellore. The temple is about a KM from Seduvalai Junction.

Thankfully, Google maps shows the exact and correct way to the temple from vellore.

We took a taxi from Chennai and started here at 5:30 AM. We reached vellore around 8-8:30 AM and took our breakfast at Saravana Bhavan hotel in Vellore. Then we proceeded to the temple and reached there around 10 AM. We were charged around Rs. 2000/-. (we also went to few other temples located in and around.

You might have all read about the all new “skin perfect” range targeting specific age groups by L’Oreal here.

Today I will be reviewing the range targeting my skin group i.e., 20+ years. From what they have mentioned in the description, one can make out that this cream targets towards combating oiliness, pimples, marks and dull skin.

The cream comes in a classy glass tub packing. Though the packing is not travel friendly, I love how classy and neat the packing looks.

The cream feels rich when swatched and smells more like the fairness cream. I am not a fan of its fragrance. But after a while the fragrance loses its intensity.

The cream is more like a fairness day cream. It does not moisturize my skin. As you all know, my skin is combination-dry and using this cream makes my skin dry out even faster.

On application, it immediately mattified (read dried out) my skin and gave me a temporary fairness. It did not impart any glow. My face looked dry and dehydrated. In fact after two days of usage the skin around my lips and nose started peeling.

It may be a very good cream for oily-skinned beauties but for combination-dry skinned, please stay away especially in the winters.

I stopped using this cream and once my skin got back to normalcy, I gave another try to understand the cause of the dry-spells more clearly. But I got more or less the same results.

But apart from the excessive dryness, the cream is good at making the skin tone look even and mattifying.

Unfortunately, I could not try it more than two weeks for the reasons mentioned above. But considering the modest price tag, I do believe that oily skinned girl’s can surely give this a try.

One of the main concerns in growing your hair long is tangles. My hair is wavy-straight. If not conditioned properly, my hair is prone to tangles and it is so frustrating to de-tangle. I have recently splurged on the tangle-teezer which I love. But not all of us have access to tangle teezer and at times when I am not able to find mine, all I feel like doing is chopping my hair off.

I tried the macadamia hair masque and couple of other argan oil based products and serums. My hair was so glorious and rich. So I was pretty attracted to the “argan oil” tag you see. And when I heard that it comes in such a modest price tag, I just had to give it a try!

I have used the original livon serum many years back and it was good at detangling. But it made my hair slick which I did not like.

This serum now claims to have argan oil, Vitamin E and UV filters for shiny, tangle free hair.

Okay now, off to the review.

REVIEW

This serum comes in a pretty transparent bottle with pink lettering. It looks cute.

It comes with a plastic lid and a pump dispenser. The plastic lid seems to be made of fragile material and I am sure, I will break it or lose it in another 5-6 days.

The serum is a light weight transparent liquid. It is quite runny and is runnier than the original livon.

It does a decent job in separating the hair strands and thereby detangling the hair. But the best thing about this serum is, it does not weigh down my hair or make it slick. It detangles retaining the original volume and bounce.

The detangled effect lasts unfortunately for only one day and the next day, thought my hair does not knot up in tangles; the effect is surely not there.

It does not impart any noticeable “gloss” or “shine” to my hair. But it did make my hair considerably silky. Much to my dismay, the hair clip kept sliding down.

This serum did not help much in combating frizz but it is not something I expected it to do.

It did not result in hair fall or any other hair problem.

It retails at Rs. 259 for 59ml and Rs. 149/- for a smaller trail pack.

I like this product but I am not super-impressed as I don’t like to use multiple products on my hair. I look for frizz control, protection from heat, shine and detangling properties in my serum. But for those who are on a budget or for those who are looking only towards detangling, this is indeed a good product to try.

And, just because it has argan oil in it, it is unfair to compare it with higher end products with argan oil considering the price at which this is being sold.

For increasing hair growth we take so many efforts including watching out diet and taking supplements. But are we able to really maintain our hair in all its glory? Especially given our hectic life style and frequent styling?

Today am going to review my favorite and most used hair care product. It is the Amway persona Amla hair oil.

Amla is known for imparting rich color to the hair, stimulating hair growth and preventing split ends.

These days I do not get time to apply hair oil before my every single hair wash. I was introduced to this product by a friend who raved about it and I actually saw the results show up on her.

It is priced at a modest Rs. 75/- for a 200ml bottle.

REVIEW

The oil is has green tint to it and is runny in consistency. It comes in a basic plastic bottle.

I use this oil once in a week. I separate my hair using a clip just the way we do in case we are straightening or curling. And, I apply this oil on the scalp/roots of the hair using a cotton round. After applying on the roots of one section I apply it on the length and brush it so that the entire strand is well saturated. I repeat this step on all the sections and put it in a bun. I wait for one-two hours depending on the time I have and wash it off with shampoo and conditioner.

I have gone through two bottles now.

Using this hair oil has made my hair care regime so much simple. I don’t apply any oil or anything mask during my week-day hair washes. My hair has become soft, manageable and luscious. Hair fall is very much reduced. But the first thing i noticed was not reduction in hair fall but the shine it gave my hair.

It imparts a gorgeous glossy shine to the hair. My friend claims that it helped in avoiding grey hair. She had one-two early grey hair and on regular usage she says she has not noticed any increase in the grey hair and the new hair which grew looked glossy and healthy!

I trimmed the split ends before starting to use this product and i am yet to notice even a single split end.

The only thing I hate about this oil is its fragrance. It smells strong. If you are able to over look that aspect then it is a must have product for people who wish to grow their hair long!

Bourjois 8 in 1 BB cream foundation in Golden beige

Winters were so harsh on my skin and along with a skin care experiment gone wrong, my skin got flaky and horrible. I literally had to apply petroleum jelly on my skin round the clock for two days to control the flakiness.

During those time, obviously applying foundation or any sort of makeup meant disaster.

I was hunting for a light weight tinted cream that would give me even skin tone without drying it out any further.

I was introduced to this BB cream from Bourjois by an SA who said it would be perfect for me. After trying out my stint with BB creams of various brands, I decided to give this one a try.

Perfecting, smoothening, anti fatigue, anti shine, anti ageing, targeted correction, hydration and SPF.

REVIEW

It comes in a shiny black compact case with a generous mirror which swivels and can be adjusted to suit our needs. The mirror is more than sufficient to do touch ups and the entire compact case feels sturdy and travel friendly. The case has a magnetic closure.

The foundation/BB cream is very creamy and silky in texture. It sets to a satiny and glowy finish which was a boon to my dry parched skin.

The foundation compact comes with a useless sponge applicator which I immediately threw out. I use my real techniques expert face brush or my fingers to blend this product. I tried using a wedge but I feel it drinks up too much product.

Bourjois 8 in 1 BB cream foundation comes with a swivel mirror!

Application is easy as the product blends well owing to its consistency. Once applied the products stays easily for 6-7 hours and when used under a proper base, it lasts throughout the day. It feels very light and almost second-skin like.

Again, due to the texture, it needs to be set with a powder especially in the under eye area without which it tends to settle in the fine lines on humid days.

It imparts medium coverage. It covers minor imperfections, redness and evens out my skin tone to a great extent. My skin tone is NC 40 in MAC and this Golden beige shade is a perfect match.

Presence of SPF 20makes it a pleasure to wear during day time.

It retails at INR. 1050/- (approx) which is quite high but almost all Bourjois products are priced this way.

Uff.. Such a long name, right? I saw the Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipstick in the shade 109 in a YouTube video for the first time. The blogger was singing praises of the color and finish of the lipstick. I knew then that I have to get it. But unfortunately it was not available in any store at Chennai or any Indian online stores. I saw that it was available in websites like Amazon but at an exorbitant price. So when my husband announced his short trip to US for work, I decided to get it for sure. I gave him the name and shade name written and he got it for me! I was so happy that day. But wait… did it fulfill my expectations? Let me tell you.

The packing is quite attractive. I don’t see many drugstore lipsticks with such a vibrant colored holder. It has a matte red outer cover and a glossy black body inside the cap. The packing is quite travel-friendly, it doesn't open by itself even if I carelessly toss it in my bag. The Rimmel emblem is shown on the top of the cap. The shade number is printed on the label at the bottom of the holder. These lipsticks do not have any names only numbers.

My husband told me that he got it from a super market in New Jersey for $7. I see different prices in different online stores. So I am not sure about the exact price. But from what I have seen it can cost you anywhere between $5 - $8 for 4g. It has a shelf life of 30 months.

REVIEW

The shade of the lipstick is orangey-coral. In the YouTube video I saw it almost like a reddish coral, so I was actually a bit disappointed with the color. However, it is a nice color but very tricky at the same time. It shows well on me when I wear full face makeup but washes me out a bit when I am without any face makeup. It is not a completely matte lipstick. It has a creamy semi matte texture which glides smoothly without any tugging. It is highly pigmented and on my arm it turns opaque in one swipe. Anyhow, on my pigmented lips it is a completely different story. It shows well in the first swipe but does not apply evenly. I have to use a lip brush to get an even application or take some time and effort to apply it evenly. A good thing is that it doesn't settle into the fine lines.

It is not a hydrating lipstick so applying a lip balm before using it, is essential. Another downside of the lipstick is its staying power. If there is no meals or snacks in between it stays put for around 3-4 hours but fades. However, if I have any snacks or meals or even drinks in between it is gone! I have to reapply it. Being a drugstore lipstick maybe I should not expect more from it but I would have been happier if it applied evenly on my lips. It has a fruity fragrance which doesn't linger for a long time after application.

Asus Zenfone is my ideal Valentine!

I always loved the brand ASUS. They came up with such affordable and really good laptops. When I heard about the zen phone, which is a new launch by them, I was not really into it. I thought it might just be an attempt to enter into the smart phone segment to just keep up with the rest of its fellow competitors. After listening to a lot of famous youtubers rave about the Bioderma Sensibio Micelle solution, I knew I just had to get it. I searched here and there and finally found it at NYKAA. It was pricey for a makeup remover. But then, it was not just a makeup remover. I have heard people say on how it works as a great toner and what not!

BIODERMA SENSIBIO H2O MICELLE SOLUTION REVIEW

So after buying the 250 ml bottle for INR 860 and using it for quite some time, I am here with its review. I saw that it is priced at $14 for 100 ml in amazon.com which equates to approx. INR 868/-.

For those who don’t know, a micelle solution is nothing but a liquid vaccum cleaner that is designed to suck everything apart from water from the surface of your skin. Since it does not suck off or remove water, you are left with smooth, hydrated and perfectly clean skin. It is not oil-based and does not leave any film or residue. You can totally skip washing your face after using this remover. And, it is designed for sensitive skin so no dryness or breakouts.

My skin is combination-dry and hyper sensitive. One wrong cream and it is all covered with dry flakes. It takes ages to get my skin back to normalcy. So I have decided to spend less on makeup (I know it is going to be really difficult) and more on quality skin care products.

REVIEW

Bioderma’s Sensibio comes in a transparent plastic bottle with a pink flip cap. It has a small opening and no restrictor. I find this packing comfortable as I use a cotton rounds to wipe off my makeup. They also have a smaller version which I believe can be carried in a bag without creating a mess.

The solution is water-like. It does not foam when I use it, but when the bottle is dropped or moved violently, it foams up on the surface. It does not have any fragrance.

It is the most perfect makeup remover I have ever come across. It removes the last trace of makeup and even after cleansing my face, when I use it as a toner; I see some dirt and makeup coming off. Such is its efficacy.

It does not sting my eyes and is very gentle. As I have gotten used to wearing foundation every day, this product is indeed God sent. One cotton round is all I require to remove my makeup. Of course, I have to use a separate round for removing my eye makeup.

It does not shrink my pores immediately like how a toner does, but after using it regularly, I did see a great improvement in the texture of my skin and my pores are less visible.

It did not dry out my skin or cause breakouts. In fact, my skin is well behaved these days. As it does not leave any residue behind, you can totally skip your face wash before bed time if you had used this one.

A 250 ml bottle lasts 1.5 months for me. I use it only once in a day before bed time. It is such a savior and if your skin is dehydrated, sensitive and prone to blemishes, this one is a must try!

For those who are blessed with perfect skin and don’t really wear that much makeup, I don’t think you will have any reason to be “amazed” by this product.

That said, I will continue repurchasing this. I read that there is a much bigger bottle available. If I could get my hands on those, it would be really cool!

Every time I walk past the Chanel store I used to peep inside. Most of the time the store seemed empty and those who have visited the store complained about the unfriendly MUA’s there. But seeing the beautiful lipstick swatches of Chanel on the blogosphere I was dying to go and try myself. I thought of buying a neutral lip color so that I will get to use it more compared to the hot pinks or neon.

To start with, my friends were not wrong about the MUA not being friendly. Initially she was a bit hesitant to show me the lip colors. May be she was not sure whether I will buy or not. She told me to select the shades and then she will let me try. I found the lighting inside the store a bit uncomfortable because I was not able to make out how the lip colors looked on me. However, one shade caught my attention and I asked her to let me try it. Instantly I loved it. It was a beautiful nude pink color and felt really light on the lips. I didn't bother to look at the shade name since I am not familiar with Chanel lipstick shade names like the way I know MAC. Anyhow I found out that the shade was 05, Mademoiselle from their Rouge Coco Hydrating Crème Lip colors.

The lipstick comes in a paper carton box in black color. The shade name and the other details are printed on it. It looks really classy. The lipstick feels heavy inside the cover. The holder is in black and gold. It has the Chanel Emblem on the top. The shade name, expiry period etc. are printed on the bottom of the lipstick holder. It shuts tight so that the holder will not open by itself and spoil the lipstick.

Price: INR. 2500 for 3.5 g. It has a shelf life of 18 months.

REVIEW

The lipstick is a medium pink with brown undertones. It has good pigmentation and glides smoothly on my lips. It covers the pigmentation on my lips completely with two swipes. On my lips it looks like a neutral pink. I expected it to be hydrating but on my dry lips I have to apply a lip balm before applying this lipstick. It gives a glossy finish on my lips and doesn't set to a matte finish later. It feels so light that I forget that I have applied any lipstick. The most surprising thing about this lipstick is that, despite being creamy and transferring when I have some drinks, it stays put even after a full meals. It fades a bit but doesn't get wiped away completely. If I didn't have any snacks in between it stays put without fading for more than 4-5 hours. It doesn't settle into fine lines.

I first thought it looks like MAC Twig and in another blog I read that it resembles Cosmo. I don’t have Cosmo but when I swatched both Twig and Mademoiselle near to each other it looked almost similar. Twig is little bit drier. Regarding the shade Mademoiselle looks more brown and Twig looks more pink on the lips.

Essence Lashes Go Wild Volume Mascara

These days my dresser is filled with tubes of mascaras. I don’t know how I acquired so many useless ones. Oops! Nevertheless, today I am going to review the Essence Lashes Go Wild Mascara. I got all curious because of the unconventional packing it came in. I will not call it completely useless but I don’t know if I like it or not. May be, at the end of this review, I might be able to draw some conclusion!

Essence Lashes Go Wild Volume Mascara

Essence is a famous drug store foreign brand. They make some wonderful eye shadows quads, eye pencils and what not. I first saw this brand at medplusbeauty.com and by the time I convinced myself to give it a try, they shut the entire website down. See.. It takes time to convince me.

I wanted to buy a decent brow pencil and while browsing for one in amazon, this one caught my fancy and I just bought it for its unique packing. It comes in a tube form and is designed to impart lush voluminous wild lashes!

Review

I find this packing compact and convenient. The wand is not too thick and has bristles of different shape arranged in the pattern as shown. I guess the fancy arrangement is to ensure all the eyelashes are sufficiently coated with the product.

The texture of the product is thick but not too goopy. I would not call it perfect because it is slightly thicker for my taste. I personally feel that thick formulas make their presence felt throughout the day.

Essence Lashes Go Wild Volume Mascara - Wand

Due to the texture when I pull out the wand, I find some extra product sticking on and since the “tube” does not seem to have any restrictor inside, I find it quite difficult to get rid of the excess product. I use clean tissues to remove the excess before applying them on my lashes. Yet that way, product wastage is inevitable.

Coming to the actual performance, the mascara adds a decent amount of volume and length to my lashes in just a single coat. The wand does not come effective in coating the lashes located at the outer corner seamlessly so I have to go again with the wand positioned vertically to coat the lashes.

It does not clump very badly but if the excess product is not removed, then it definitely clumps. It does not feel very heavy despite its thick texture and it imparts lovely dark color to my lashes.

It stays put throughout the day and does not come off with mild rubbing or random water splashes.

In the image I have worn one coat straight from the brush without removing the excess product. I know many girls who love this pokey spidey looks. I just love natural looking, fanned out, clump free romantic lashes..

Garnier Fructis Triple Nutrition Strengthening Shampoo and Conditioner - Review

I have taken up the #happyhairchallenge featuring the New Garnier Fructis Triple Nutrition Strengthening shampoo and conditioner. I have posted my initial thoughts about this range and about my hair condition here.

Review

The shampoo has a nice fruity fragrance and lathers up well. It cleanses off dirt and accumulated oil easily in one wash.But on days when I had oiled my hair for deep conditioning, it requires two washes to remove the oil completely.

The shampoo did not feel very conditioning. It made my hair very coarse.

The conditioner was a welcome one after how my hair felt after shampooing. The conditioner is thick pearly liquid with similar fragrance. The texture was perfect to spread it throughout my hair. I did not apply it on the scalp. But I applied it near the roots of the hair which I will not do with other conditioners.

The conditioning effect was pretty average. My hair was moderately tangle free, voluminous and bouncy. It did not help much with my frizz.

Even after two days of washing my hair, it did not feel oily or heavy. My hair still maintained its volume and bounce. The only downside was the frizz and dryness which for me is a big thing.

I used to wash my hair every alternate day to maintain the bounce and freshness. I have been at many times advised against this practice. With this range, I was able to push my shampooing to twice a week. My hair did not feel limp or oily at all.

Now coming to the huge claim of reducing hair fall and preventing split end, I must say, I am quite impressed. I did not have much of a hair fall problem even before using this range and with this range I noticed even lesser hair fall!

I had chopped the ends of my hair before taking up this challenge and I did not notice even a single split end despite the dryness I faced!

This range did not irritate my scalp or cause dandruff like some ranges do.

I won’t repurchase as my evil hair requires more more and more moisturization! But apart from the dryness, I don’t have any reason not to use this product!

The Mary-Lou Manizer and the Lorac skinnywere purchased from amazon.com and my dear friend revathy of health and beauty (click here to check out her blog!) picked them for me from her US trip. Thank you girl!

I am yet to swatch the lou Manizer and lorac as I am yet to get over the “OMG! its finally mine” feel. Once that fades away, I will use it and see how it fares for me.

As for the MAC lipstick, I am so happy to say that I have found my perfect nude! I wonder why it took so long to get this shade!

The L'Oreal gloss also falls in the “nude/neutral” category. I saw this shade on a blogger and immediately fell in love with it.!

I wanted to try some curls for a change and I have finally learnt the art of curling hair using a straightener. So technically, I earned this!

Today, I am going to review my first MACfoundation i.e., Studio Sculpt Foundation with SPF 15. I was going through that phase where I bought almost all drug store foundations right from Lakme to Bourjois. It was then, Nisha suggested me to spend wisely and get myself a mac foundation. Finally, when the SA applied this one the right side of my face, I knew it was meant to be mine. I came home and googled about it only to find that not many were pleased with this. Read on to know how it fared.

MAC Studio Sculpt SPF 15 Foundation - Review

REVIEW

Unlike other foundations in MAC, it comes in a tube form with a rubberized cap. I don’t prefer rubberized caps or packing as the fingerprints tend to look ugly in them. But apart from that I am happy that this is a travel friendly packing with no hassles of buying a separate pump etc like the studio fix one.

The foundation is a gel-based and creamy. When exposed to hot climates for prolonged periods, the transparent liquid tends to separate and seep out first when the tube is squeezed. But when I shake it well before use this problem is not there.

I would not call this foundation perfect for very dry skin. It did not do anything for my skin during the extreme dry episodes involving flaking etc. That’s okay. No foundation helps with flaky skin. I had to moisturize before using it. But now, as the climate is getting slightly warmer, this foundation is nothing less than perfect.

It feels like a second skin. No heaviness. It is easy to blend and insanely pigmented. It is quite astonishing to note how such a heavily pigmented product blends seamlessly. I have used it with my fingers, real techniques expert face brush and also with a beauty blender. It works well but with the blender, I feel there is slightly more product wastage. All the three methods impart more or less the same effect.

It conceals my moderate dark circles and all my skin imperfections. But for the heavy acne scar on my cheek, I had to use a separate concealer over it to get that perfect look. It is buildable but I don’t prefer to use more than the usual pea size. It still looks nice when layered but I just don’t like the perfect clear and concealed face.

It did not break my skin out. I was so apprehensive about the fact that these foundations cause breakouts for some.

Staying power is awesome. It stays put throughout the day. I did not feel the need to powder my face throughout the wear time. And it does not slip or come off due to sweat which is a great thing. It did not oxidize and looked perfect even at the end of the day.

It has SPF 15 in it making it ideal for day-wear. I would have been happier if it had SPF 20 or above.

I Love this. It feels good on the skin and stays put throughout the day. If you have combination-dry skin, do check it out.

It will take years to finish this tube for me. And if I did, I would love to try Estee Lauder or Chanel ones as the prices of these will only be marginally higher than MAC Studio Sculpt.
