Hello there!
Like every other girl, I love MAC eye shadows. I went to the store thinking of buying an empty quad in which I could insert 4 of my MAC eye shadows. Unfortunately the quad was out of stock. The MUA told that it is not an easy job to transfer the singles to the empty holder and encouraged me to buy an empty duo.
I already had MAC eye shadows Carbon, Embark and Lorelei and was wondering what other colors I should pick to fill the empty holders. The MUA suggested “All That Glitters” and “Texture” for my highlighter and crease colors. I tried both and loved them! So she inserted both the refills to my empty duo and viola!
What MAC Says
About the empty palette :Ultra-slim, stackable, easy-to-use palette that fits 2 shadows. Great for your Makeup Kit.
About the eyeshadow : Highly-pigmented powder. Applies evenly, blends well.
Texture : Peachy brown with shimmer
Price : Here comes the shock treatment. The MAC US website shows the empty duo price as $5 but I paid Rs.900! For each eyeshadow refill Rs. 845 each. So altogether i paid Rs.2590 :( . Both eyeshadows have 1.5g of the product and they have a shelf life of 3 years.
My take on the product
The duo holder
Though I find it expensive, the holder is of great quality. It closes tightly but opens without much effort. The top of the holder is transparent thus making it easy to identify the shades. It is magnetic and thus holds the eyeshadows properly and there is no risk of the eyeshadow refills getting separated easily from the holder.
The eye shadows
All that glitters is a rose gold shade, I feel. It works well as a good highlighter and lid color. It is shimmery but it is very subtle making the eyeshadow great for daily use.
Texture is a peachy brown and I think this is very close to my skin tone. It has a satin texture.
Both eye shadows are well pigmented and a single swipe is enough to get enough color. However, texture being a nude shade to me, I need to layer it to see it well on my crease. I have not tried it as a lid color yet.
Both are very smooth and easy to blend. They last the whole day with little bit of fading. But they certainly don’t crease. There is a bit of fall out but nothing which makes the holder messy.

On my eyes
Pros:
The holder is really classy and travel friendly
The eyeshadows are pigmented
The eyeshadows are good for daily use
The eyeshadows blend perfectly
The eyeshadows are long lasting
No creasing observed
Versatile shades
Cons:
Of course I can see only the price as a con. The MRP of Rs.2590 for two eyeshadows with a palette seems to be too high but I am sure that these will last a whole life time.
