Hi,
My love for makeup started with eyeshadows. Then it went on to different products and now came back to eyeshadows. Speaking of eyeshadows, I am always in confusion what colors work for me. Especially when I enter a MAC store I don’t know what to buy, everything looks so beautiful and inviting with a hefty price tag! I have a few eyeshadows from MAC and wanted some neutrals for everyday use. The MUA suggested Embark when I asked for a dark brown eyeshadow for my skin tone.
Packaging:
Embark comes in classic MAC packaging of black pan with transparent lid. The packing is so attractive and travel friendly. Once I dropped the eyeshadow accidentally but nothing was disturbed. The shade name and finish are written on the bottom of the pan.
Price:Rs. 1200 for 1.5g.
It has a shelf life of 3 years but MAC MUA told me that powder products can be used as long as it lasts and stay uninfected.
My take on MAC eyeshadow Embark:
MAC describes Embark as “Intense Reddish Brown” and that is the best way to describe it. It has matte texture and doesn't contain any shimmer. It is a deep reddish brown eyeshadow which can be used in a number of ways. For me, it is an ideal color for outer corner and on my lash line to create a smoked look. If I am in mood to create a smokey eye, I use it on my lid softening the edges with a lighter shade.
The pigmentation is good but not great. I felt that the texture is a bit dry, but it is easy to apply and blend. The color is buildable so you cannot go overboard with the shade easily. For some people, it can even be used as a brow color.
The staying power is good; it lasts on my lids for the entire day fading a little bit towards the end of the day. I did not notice any creasing.
