Revlon ColorBurst Matte Balm Sultry Review & Dupe Alert!!
I am after pink lipsticks these days. I think pink is the most versatile color in makeup. N8de pink, neutral pink, dusty pink, coral pink, blue based pink, cool pink, warm pink and what not. I was looking for a dusty rose/pink shade and after seeing so many reviews I decided to try the Revlon Matte Balm Sultry.
Revlon says:
Velvety Matte Look. Moisture Rich Balm. A Matte finish that’s beyond plush. Balm that’s beyond comforting. Our Triple Butter Complex of Shea, Coconut and Mango butters nourishes lips. In 10 collectible, crave-able colors.
Packing:
It comes as a chubby crayon which looks really attractive. The holder has the same as the shade itself and it is easily identifiable from a stash. The crayon need not be sharpened which is another good point that avoids product wastage. It comes in a twist up form. The shade names are written on the bottom of the holder.
Price: Rs. 800 for 2.7 g
My take on the Revlon Color Burst Matte Balm Sultry:
The shade is one to die for! It is a dusty rose/plum color that compliments all skin tones. I cannot say whether it is actually Plum or Rose. I feel it is more of a plum. It has a strong Mint flavor which is supposed to be plumping up the lips. It gives a cooling effect when you apply it on the lips. The fragrance fades away quickly.
Though it is semi-matte in texture, it glides smoothly giving an opaque finish within one swipe. The shape of the bullet gives ease of application. The pigmentation is awesome and it can hide any pigmentation on the lips easily. It doesn't dry out the lips but for extremely dry lips, it is better to use a lip balm before applying this. Though the name is Balm it is actually more like a lip color. I cannot say that it particularly moisturize the lips.
It has good staying power and stays put for 4-5 hours without any heavy meals in between. It transfers slightly and fades evenly with small snacks and drinks but there is no feathering or settling into fine lines. It is really comfortable on the lips.
Dupe Alert!!I feel this shade resembles the MAC lipstick Craving very closely though Craving is of amplified creme finish. The shades are really close.
So now the pros of Revlon Color Burst Matte Balm Sultry:
- Very creamy and glides effortlessly
- Insanely pigmented
- Opaque coverage enough to camouflage any pigmentation on the lips
- Slight plumping effect
- Not drying on the lips
- No feathering or settling into fine lines
- Doesn't bleed or melt
- Easy twist up packing, no product wastage
- Easily available
- Easily identifiable from the stash
Now the cons:
- I cannot think of a serious con with this product. However, I am not very fond of mint flavor.
